Northern Lights Boat Trip
When out on a boat, there will be only a minimum amount of ambient light (light pollution), a fact which makes this one of the best ways to enjoy the northern lights.
The northern lights, or Aurora Borealis as they are called in Latin, occur in what is known as the northern lights belt. Lofoten is situated in the middle of this belt, offering excellent opportunities to see the phenomenon when the skies are clear. The northern lights appear as flickering curtains of light, as a kind of mist, or as a corona in the sky. Their colors varies from green to blue and red.
